Shock Absorbers
At Buckingham Tyre & Exhaust Centre recommend KAYABLE KYB Shock absorbers in Buckingham for your vehicle O/E Equipment
Worn shock absorbers lose their effectiveness after 80,000 kilometres (50,000 miles).
Low-quality after market shock absorbers are engineered and perform differently from OE. The difference in performance shifts stress and wear towards other components, like brakes and tyres.
OEM parts do not compensate for wear and miles driven. Only KYB shock absorbers are calibrated to restore originally-designed ESC capabilities. One of the main requirements for shock absorbers is to keep the wheels on the ground at all times, so as to be able to transmit the steering & braking forces to the road while you are driving. Without this contact with the road, there is a real danger you may cause an accident if your shock absorbers are defective. Worn shock absorbers increase the braking distance, 2-3 metres longer at speeds of 50 miles per hour. Your shock absorbers may already have done 80.000km without having the shock change.
If your vehicle dips at the front when you go into tight corners or if your notice that your vehicle bounces a lot when you brake hard then you may need new shock absorbers.
This can also mean tyre wearing in a place you may not see like on the inside, so check the condition of the tyres by turning the steering wheel. You may also find the tyre wear uneven this may be caused by Wheel Alignment ( TRACKING) or the shock absorbers.
Computerised FourWheel Alignment
If you hear a knocking noise then you may need lower wishbone arms, which is part of the suspension. Please don't forget most modern cars have rear alignment to, so check the rear tyres on the inside edge. Most family size cars like Ford ,Vauxhall, VW Group will have rear tracking.
At Buckingham Tyre & Exhaust Centre offer a free shock absorber check & a free check for wheel ALIGNMENT with a computerized four wheel alignment gauge in Buckingham
PLEASE CHECK YOUR TYRE PRESSURE REGULARLY, If you don't check pressure you may use more fuel on your journey.....
